Complete Street Improvements
from William Street to Peace River Bridge
Charlotte County.
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), District One,
invites you to a public meeting for the Northbound Tamiami Trail (US
41/SR 45) Complete Street Improvements from William Street to
Peace River Bridge in Charlotte County.
The purpose of this project is to enhance safety on this three-lane,
one-way section of Northbound Tamiami Trail (US 41/SR 45) and
advance goals of walkability and strategic investment/development
within Downtown Punta Gorda as set forth in the City of Punta
Gorda’s Comprehensive Plan and Plan Punta Gorda 2019 Citywide
Master Plan.

Upcoming Meetings:
You may attend the public meeting through two options: in-person
event or live online (virtual) event.
IN-PERSON EVENT: On Thursday, January 26, 2023, the in-person
open house event will be held at the Charlotte Harbor Event and
Conference Center, 75 Taylor St, Punta Gorda, FL 33950 from 5 p.m.
to 7 p.m.
LIVE ONLINE (VIRTUAL) EVENT: On Tuesday, January 31, 2023,
from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., the live online (virtual) event can be accessed
through the project website or at bit.ly/TamiamiTrailPublicMeeting.

All meeting materials will be available online on the project website
at
https://www.swflroads.com/project/441524-1 starting January 19,
2023.
A copy of these materials will also be available at the in-person
and live online (virtual) events. The same material will be presented
at both events.
You may choose any combination of the provided
options to review the materials and submit your comments.
While comments about the project are accepted at any time,
comments must be received or postmarked by February 10,
2023, to be included in the formal public meeting record. A
summary of the meeting comments and responses will be available
on the project website approximately 30 days following the close of
the comment period.
