For
more than two decades Charlotte, Desoto and Sarasota County residents have
highly anticipated the Charlotte Sun and WINK-TV sponsored Hurricane &
Business Expo and Guide. Hosted by Sun Newspapers, YourSun.com, WINK-TV and
Storm Smart. The event focuses attention on hurricane preparedness, survival
and recovery with informational sessions presented by WINK-TV Meteorologist Jim
Farrell and the WINK-TV Weather Team. Presentations at 11:00am and 1:30pm.
Charlotte
County Emergency Management officials outline storm preparation and response,
evacuation procedures and offer safety, survival tips. Local businesses and
community service organizations are on site with special offers and programming
including emergency management, first responders, the Red Cross, Suncoast Blood
Bank, Peace River Squadron and others.
During
the event attendees will play Hurricane BINGO, Weather Trivia and complete for
prizes.
